Northwood, Inc. was established in 1992 as a specialized network of durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and medical supplies (DMEPOS) providers offering cost-effective, high-quality products to health plans and self-funded groups.

Today, our contracted network of credentialed, accredited providers are nationwide with over 4,300 provider locations throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.  Northwood’s network offers choice and convenience to members when choosing a provider, yet provides deep discounts to payers.

Northwood’s expertise in managing DMEPOS benefits for our clients led to our relationships with auto and workers’ compensation carriers wishing to control expenditures in this area.  Through our discounted fee schedule, utilization review, pre-authorization, claims adjudication processes and customer-centric approach Northwood has saved their clients significant resources and improved upon member relations.

Unique to our auto and workers’ compensation clients are our services as a Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM).  This specialized program is dedicated to the needs of the injured claimant and those responsible for their care.  Northwood’s PBM is different – we can administer full and coordinated benefits where all co-pays and deductibles are billed to the PBM equaling NO OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES for claimants.

Northwood has been listening to the needs of our auto and workers’ compensation clients and has applied its provider network techniques to other necessary service lines to effectively manage the care of an injured claimant.  Northwood’s total solution now goes beyond durable medical equipment; infusion therapy and pharmacy benefit management to also include home health, home modification, transportation and translation services.  Northwood is proud to have expanded our service line through our contracted and high-quality provider networks to better respond to the needs of our clients and their members.
